Abstract: The police, as the front-line law enforcement agency, play a pivotal role in ensuring women’s safety and security. This paper explores how law enforcement in India can enhance their preparedness to tackle crimes against women by focusing on gender-sensitive training, increasing female representation in the police force, improving community engagement, and leveraging technology. The analysis includes the examination of the current status of women's safety, gaps in police preparedness, and a detailed action plan to create a more responsive and gender-sensitive policing environment. Through an examination of current shortcomings and recommendations for reform, this paper aims to provide a strategic framework to empower women and create a safer environment across the country.
